Newly Married

This past weekend, Phillip, Brad, and I traveled down to Denver to attend Ross and Hannah's (sp) wedding. We weren't sure we were going to make it; Utah/Wyoming experienced really bad weather last week, and there were a lot of road closures on Thursday. Also, our car isn't in the best shape right now, and we were afraid to travel all the way to Denver in it. Phillip and I felt it was really important to support Ross and Hannah if at all possible, so we packed everything in our car and drove down to Ogden on Friday morning. We rented a truck in Ogden and made our way to Denver. It was nice to see all of Phillip's family. Mark looked good, and he was able to make it to the sealing! Congratulations Ross and Hannah!

We didn't stay long at the reception because Phillip wasn't feeling well, but we had a good time while we were there. The food was great!

I thought this was a pretty and simple way to decorate the tables. I love roses.
The newlyweds.
The family.
The cake. Gotta love the ducks.

It was nice to see Mark's mom at the wedding. She loved holding Brad.

Anne's mom also made it to the wedding, and she met Brad for the first time. It was good to see her again.
I think both Brad and Phillip have had enough at this point. Phillip was sick the entire weekend, but he was a trooper throughout all of the different events. If he looks tired, it's because he is tired, and he didn't smile much because he was afraid his lips would crack and bleed.

Brad behaved pretty well throughout most of the trip, but I think he was really tired after all of the festivities. We left Denver on Sunday at 6:15 am. It took us 8 1/2 hours to get home, and Brad slept for 8 of those hours!

Does he look like he's had enough? Thanks Janet and Diana for helping out so much with Brad.

School Colors

Dear Janet and Diana,

Good luck with basketball this year. I just want both of you to know I will be your biggest fan.

Love, Brad.

Playing with a Friend

On Friday night, Phillip and I watched a little girl named Madeline while her parents went to the temple. We had a fun time with Madeline, and I think Brad likes her quite a bit. Madeline is two months younger than Brad, and she doesn't move around much, so I don't think she knew how to respond when Brad rolled around near her.

Getting Bigger

Brad is getting pretty big. I can't believe he's 5 1/2 months old. In the pictures below, Brad is wearing a shirt that is identical to what he wore for the family pictures we took when he was about 6 weeks old. Does he look bigger? He's already reading, so he must be bigger! Aunt Carol, thanks for sending the books.

2010 Pumpkin Walk

At the end of October, Brad and I went to North Logan's annual Pumpkin Walk. We went with some friends and had a fun time looking at all of the scenes. The theme this year centered on animation. Pumpkins were used in each scene in various ways. I can only imagine the amount of work it took to create some of the scenes! Phillip was doing homework, like always, so he missed out. However, I don't think he was very sad; the idea of a pumpkin walk isn't exactly his cup of tea. Below, I have included some of my favorite scenes.

The Flintstones. Classic
101 Dalmations. All of the dogs are painted pumpkins.
The Muppet Show. Not my favorite, but it looked like it took a lot of work, so I included it.
Sponge Bob. I have never actually seen this show, but the creators did a good job of incorporating pumpkins in an interesting way.

Halloween Party

We had a fun Halloween this year. Brad was a basketball for our ward Halloween party. I was worried he would cry when placed in the basketball, but he did very well. Someone gave Brad pumpkin pajamas for Halloween. Even though he wasn't a pumpkin for Halloween, we wanted to make use of the pajamas. He was a jack-o-lantern many nights during the month of October. I was asked to make a backdrop for our ward Halloween party, and I've included a picture of that.

Our Smiling Boy

Brad smiles a lot. We captured a few of his smiles to share with all of you.

Our Brief Trip to St. George

Phillip, Brad, and I traveled to St. George during Fall Break. We had a fun time, and it was good to see everyone. Brad received a lot of love and attention. Mckinley was such a good helper with Brad. She held him, fed him, and even got him to fall asleep on her lap!

The last night we were in St. George, my mom started making faces at Brad, and he began laughing harder than he ever has. He laughed for about 10 minutes straight. We captured it on video. In this clip, Brad has been laughing so hard for so long, and he starts to cry in between bouts of laughter because he's so exhausted. It's pretty funny.
