I found Stella like this last night.  Phillip said she had been shivering, so the above apparel was his solution.  She is wearing Phillip's sock and coat, and Brad's beanie.
Grandma Bea sent us a package via Hanna and Alanna.  Brad was excited to get it.  He helped me make these cookies from a mix Grandma Bea sent.  He thought he was a pretty big helper.

Today we introduced the letter "C."  "C" is for CUPCAKE!
We formed paper cupcakes into the letter "C."  I put glue on the frosting of each cupcake and let the kids decorate the paper cupcakes with sprinkles.

We played with felt cupcakes too.

Brad wanted a lot of frosting on his.
Mikayla wanted a lot of sprinkles.

Brad and I made more play dough the other day.  The kids had fun playing with it while I shaped some of it into letters and quizzed them.

Brad and Stella were happy to see Grandma and Grandpa Davidson and Diana this weekend.  We went to the trick-or-treat on Saturday that was held downtown.   Brad was excited to get dressed up.
Stella is an elephant this year.

Brad is a chicken.  He loved his costume, but you can't tell based on some of these pictures.

It was fun to have Mark, Anne, and Diana down for a visit.

It snowed.  Brad isn't sure how he feels about it.  I know how I feel about it.
He looks pretty cold at this point because he is.

We are getting excited for Halloween around our place.  I didn't realize it until I started looking at some past pictures, but Stella is starting to look a little older.

I included this one because you can see that she is starting to get a little bit of hair toward the nape of her neck.
Brad wanted his picture taken too.  This little boy has gone on the potty four times.  We are pretty excited.  Phillip especially.  Which I find funny since he doesn't change many diapers.

We got together with some cousins to carve pumpkins, eat pizza, and enjoy some donuts.  Hanna and Alanna invited us to their apartment for Halloween FHE, and we had a good time.  Thomas brought his two kids, Diego and Amalie, along with Uncle Tom and Aunt Patti (sp).  We didn't know Uncle Tom and Aunt Patti were visiting, so we were excited to see them.
Diego, Bradford, Hanna, and Amalie.  The kids loved listening to Hanna as she made gruesome noises while cutting into her pumpkin.
Hanna let Brad draw on her pumpkin with dry erase marker.  He thought he was making some lovely long hair.

Brad tried to wrestle one of the big oblong pumpkins.  It got the better of him because he crashed shortly after this picture was taken.
I was in charge of girls' night this month, and we had a witch/cat themed party.  Some ladies in the ward get together once a month to chat and EAT, and I thought we should throw in a craft since Halloween is coming up.

This little kitty was our craft.  My mom did a similar activity for her relief society years ago, so I had her send me her pattern.  I have fond memories of this kitty.  We always took our Halloween loot over to Grandma Bills' house to show her what we received.  She usually had goodies for us stacked on a cat like this.  You can put cookies, pretzels, and donuts on the tail of the cat.
I made these witch hat party favors.  They had peanut M&Ms inside.
I made witch hat toppers for these cupcakes out of mini cupcake liners.  I really like these cupcakes due to the enormous amounts of delicious frosting piled on top of each one.  Here's the recipe for the frosting (thanks to my mom):

Mix 1 cup (real) butter (room temperature) with 1 cup shortening.  It is important that you mix for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1 pound powdered sugar.

Add 2 tsp. coconut extract (we used imitation vanilla flavoring, and they still tasted good).

Add 1 package cream cheese (room temperature)-add the cream cheese 1 inch cubed at a time as you mix.

Add 1-2 Tablespoons of milk if the frosting feels stiff.

Mix all ingredients together until well blended.

The kitty army.

Today we made bubble prints.  The kids liked blowing through the straw and making huge bubbles.  Poor Mikayla; she sucked some of the dish detergent into her mouth.  I tried to prevent that by making a small hole near the top of the straw, but it obviously wasn't big enough.

You can't see the bubbles very well in these pictures, but I thought they transferred onto the paper pretty nicely.  Brad was hiding because he didn't want me to take his picture.  Love it.
I found Stella in this position a few minutes ago.  I'm not ready.

We decided to go to the temple yesterday.  I am really glad we went, but it was a long day.  Because we had to take the kids and trade off, it took us about ten hours round trip.  The presidential debate was held in Denver yesterday, so part of the freeway was closed during the debate.  Consequently, we found a different route on the way home to go around the closed off freeway.  The detour added some time to our trip.
I took some pictures of the kids while we were there.  The temple grounds were beautiful.

I took a lot of pictures of Stella because she was a little more cooperative.  Brad didn't want his picture taken.

 I loved all the flowers.

Brad thought this was a good rock (the others near it were NOT good), so he wanted me to take his picture on it.

We saw a rabbit at the base of this pine tree.  Brad went up to it, and it didn't shy away too much.  Brad got really close and the rabbit started running around the pine tree.  Of course Brad chased it.  I don't know why the rabbit was attached to this particular tree, but it was so funny to see Brad chasing the rabbit around and around the tree.  He thought it was so funny.  I wish I had gotten it on video.

 Around and around they went.
I thought these mums were gorgeous.

The temple.  Brad was so excited to see the temple.  This was his oft repeated phrase: "Holy Cow! The temple!  Holy Cow!"  He really liked the angel Moroni.  When he was looking at The Friend this morning, he saw a picture of a temple with the angel Moroni on top.  He knew all about THAT, and kept telling me that the angel Moroni was WAY on top.
