I made this tutu for Stella's birthday.  I am going to use it for decoration on her birthday then let her wear it.  I don't think she will want to wear it any time soon; she seemed to be extremely irritated by the scratchy tulle.  As I was trying to take pictures, she held her hands way up high so she wouldn't have to touch it.

Preschool fun.
We went up to Burlington over the weekend.  My camera is officially broken now, but I did take a picture with my phone of Stella while she was napping.  She just looked so peaceful.  We had a good time while in Burlington.  I didn't realize my phone takes decent pics.  I am going to have to use it more often.

Today was one of those preschool days that just didn't work out very well.  I introduced the letter "E" for elephant.  Brad was excited to learn but not very cooperative.  We did a few activities, and I became very frustrated.  My frustration was not providing the best learning environment, so I decided we needed to take a break.  We might come back to "E" later this afternoon.  Then again, I may have to wait until tomorrow before I want to give it another shot.  We got a lot of elephant books at the library.  Anne gave Brad Elmer books for Christmas.  He has enjoyed reading them, and I thought it would be fun to cut out a 3-D Styrofoam elephant for Brad to paint different colors like Elmer.  I found a great website from which I printed various activities: elephants Brad could sort according to size, elephant puzzles, elephant patterns, and elephants with numbers and letters.  We ate peanuts for a snack, and I had Brad place the correct number of peanuts on the elephants with numbers.  I also made use of the geoboard I made for Brad.  I hope we can enjoy all the activities another day.
I have a very hard time taking a good picture of these two.

This picture says it all.  Another day.

The other day, I was taking a picture of Stella (shown below).  I thought she looked like a bumblebee with her yellow and black.  While taking the pictures, I accidentally dropped my camera onto the carpet (a couple feet in distance at most).  When I picked it up, it was frozen and wouldn't do anything.  The camera stayed in its frozen condition no matter what I did.  After a few days, I asked Phillip if we should just throw it away.  He told me to keep it because he wanted to open it up and look at it/fix it.  I am always skeptical when Phillip undertakes one of these projects, but I let him go ahead.  And he fixed it!  Kind of.  Sometimes the picture coloring is way off and kind of blurry, but if I tap the lens, it usually goes back to normal.

I made a geoboard for our preschool.  I am going to use it for shape, number, and letter recognition, and I think Brad will like spending his free time playing with it.

All of the Christmas pictures I took of our trip down to St. George were deleted from my SD card.  I didn't realize the card needed to be formatted, and I took a bunch of pictures during the break.  When I tried to download the pictures onto my computer, I was told the card needed to be formatted and that all of the data on the disc would be erased.  Irritating.  Stella took her first steps while we were down in St. George.  Here are some pictures of her standing.

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break.  I am sad I can't document it with pictures.
